Our Vietnam Blog
Our family has enjoyed an unusual experience of Vietnam. We entered this country via Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) on 6th March 2020, right before the Covid Pandemic took a hold of everyones lives.
We enjoyed a few nights in the city before heading to Central Vietnam where we had a freaky moment worried we'd picked up Coronavirus and also a tough time making a decision whether to pack up and go home or stay and face the closed borders.
The decision to stay became an easy one to make, and we chose a villa in Hoi An as our first overseas 'home'. After a month in our villa, we moved to the beach at An Bang for another month. In total we enjoyed two and a half months in Hoi An and An Bang.
Our time spent in this area was during the height of Coronavirus Pandemic. We got to experience these usually tourist filled places as quiet, empty villages. We rode through the rice fields, flew kites like the locals. The friends we made during this time were priceless, some gave us amazing insider tips on where to eat and visit.
Over the coming weeks, I'll upload more of our photos and videos from our earlier times in Vietnam. I'm looking forward to sharing with you the amazing places we have experienced with a Covid-19 perspective.
